I’m passionate about helping you make a change

About Jasmine Rutherford, PsyD

I am a United States born and trained Clinical Psychologist, licensed in the state of South Carolina, and living and practicing general counseling in the Netherlands. I provide English speaking counseling and coaching for any English speakers in the Netherlands.

My role as a therapist is shaped over the years by training as well as my own personal background and experiences. I have had been able to work well with patients ranging from the ages of 4 to 103, and because of this I have become acquainted with issues and concerns throughout all stages of life.

With every obstacle they encounter and we work through together to gain further insight into circumstances, I am able to use what I learn both in my professional and personal life.

For the past 8 years I have provided psychotherapy to patients in a nursing home setting. I have worked in the community with children, adolescents, and adults. Prior to this, I have worked in mental health centers, correctional institutions, alongside child welfare agencies, and in vocational rehabilitation.

In addition, I have performed psychological evaluations for school systems as well as state social service agencies. My professional experiences also include conducting psychological assessments and participating as the secretary for the South Carolina Psychological Association for two years.

As someone who has dealt with stressful circumstances firsthand, who has faced the struggles associated with immigration and integration, as well as who have counseled people who have overcome extraordinary circumstances I am consistently amazed by resilience of human beings and how they can live meaningful lives, even after they have experienced some of their darkest days.
